Harris Field is in the suburb Woodridge. Woodridge is a suburb in the Logan City Council. The shire borders Brisbane City, Gold Coast, Beaudesert, Ipswich and Redlands Councils.
Initially Woodridge was either to be called Grahamvale or Grahams’ Siding after land owner Dugald Graham. However, a gentleman by the name of Octavius Stubbs purchased the land in June 1913 from Mr. Graham and had unfavourable impression of the previous owner so he unofficially named his property ‘Woodridge’. The post office recognised the name in November 1917, the first public hall was built in 1917 and the first Woodridge name plate was erected on 19 January 1918.
