HFSS Cultural Choir Success |
|
On Friday 11th September, Harris Fields State School Cultural Choir sang live on ABC Radio as part of the Brisbane Festival competition. More than 30 schools entered the competition and our choir was awarded third place, finishing as the highest place primary school. Congratulations HFSS Cultural Choir!

Prep enrolments are being accepted now for 2010. Click here.
Prep students at HFSS will be using technology as well as the traditional play based learning activities.
Our prep students are learning to use digital cameras to take their own photos and make their own digital photostories (with the help of year 7 students). |

"Meanies" story by Year 1 |

They are very proud of their stories and love the stories written by Joy Cowley. They have written letters to Joy Cowley to tell her they enjoy her stories. They are showing a lot of interest in reading and writing and have improved greatly. |

Building the Education Revolution |

The Federal Government has established a one off grant to schools of $200 000 under a program called the National Pride Project. We were also successful in receiving funds under this project for the following projects:
1. A covered walkway linking the undercovered area to I Block.
2. Replacement of 65 metres of existing seating and three drinking fountains.
3. Classroom technology upgrade – three interactive whiteboards to be installed in the prep classrooms.

New Hall and Refurbished Library
The Commonwealth Government is pleased to announce the release of significant funds for primary schools for maintenance, development and refurbishments. Harris Fields State School has been successful in gaining a multi-purpose hall and a library refurbishment under this program. This is very exciting for our school community. Plans are currently underway designing and preparing this new complex.
